About

This publication is an art catalogue showcasing the work of three post-war German artists: Hartmut Böhm, Kunibert Fritz, and Werner Krieglstein. It was edited by Hans-Peter Riese, a notable German art critic and curator, and released by Willing Verlag in Munich in 1969.

This catalogue documents the growing interest in concrete, minimalist, and constructivist art in postwar Germany. It reflects Hans-Peter Riese’s dedication to promoting avant-garde art and emerging artists during the 1960s, a critical period for German contemporary art.

Hartmut Böhm (1938-2021): Known for his precise geometric and systematic compositions, Böhm is associated with concrete and constructivist art. He collaborated with Riese on multiple projects, including Systematische Felder (1969).

Kunibert Fritz (b.1937-2023): Less widely known, Fritz also worked within a constructivist idiom, producing abstract and minimalist works in dialogue with the movements of his time.

Werner Krieglstein (b.1937): A sculptor and educator, Krieglstein’s work often involved industrial materials like plexiglass. He later taught in Marburg and was honored with a retrospective at the Kunstmuseum Marburg.

Condition:Good overall condition (Integrity and authenticity). Signs of age and wear.

Provenance: Acquired from a private collection in Portugal. Ownership: Monginho Collection
